Spanish brands dazzle 080 Barcelona runways

Catalonian fashion brand Mango unveiled a part of its Spring/Summer 2015 collection for men and women at the just held 15th edition of Spanish bi-annual fashion extravaganza 080 Barcelona.
Inspired from 1970’s styles, the 35-piece womenswear range displayed the signature elegance and youthfulness of the hippie era. With an abundant usage of lace, embroidery, chiffon, suede and sheer fabrics, the line included long dresses and skirts, ponchos, and an array of plain and printed kimonos with a retro boho-chic style.
The catwalk parade’s 15 menswear entries also reflected the ethnic and bohemian flavour of 1970s. The standouts were denim creations and some printed leather and suede made pieces.
The Mango show saw several Spanish and international models walking down the runway including Italian diva Elisa Sednaoui who opened and closed the parade characterised by hippie-inspired designs.
Speaking on the event, the model and actress said, “What I love about Mango is that it makes fashion and glamour accessible to everyone. I'm truly grateful that they are giving me a chance to come back to my favourite city in the world, Barcelona. There's nothing like being here.”
In addition to Mango’s runway presentation, the four-day-long 080 Barcelona also featured latest Fall/Winter 2016 lines from names like Brain and Beast, Custo Barcelona and childrenswear brand Bóboli.
Barcelonan designer Sita Murt featured a British-inspired range made using alpaca, mohair, jersey and a variety of wool fibres. Replete with varying volumes, knitted pleats and graphics, the line included coats, sweaters and trousers in tones of ecru, khaki, copper and electric blue. (PB)
