Pantone releases Fashion Colour Report Fall 2015

Pantone, the global colour authority that provides professional colour standards for the design industries, has released the Fashion Colour Report Fall 2015 for men and women.
The report features some 10 colours that have been majorly used by designers of New York Fashion Week and beyond in their collections for the season along with copies of sketches and inspiration behind the creations.
Speaking on the report, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, states, “Juxtaposition of colour from opposite sides of the spectrum emphasises poise and confidence on the runway. The fall-2015 palette is rooted in multi-faceted, androgynous colours that can be worn to portray effortless sophistication across men’s and women’s fashion; it is the first time we are seeing a truly unisex colour palette.”
The new palette pays homage to progressive moments in American history right from the seductive 1920s to the bohemian hippie and modernist movements of the 1960s and 70s.
The featured shades are- Desert Sage (a cool and soothing greenish-gray that serves as an ideal neutral base), Stormy Weather (a powerful blue-gray reminiscent of the sky on a gray, overcast day) and Oak Buff (a mellow, comforting and warming golden-yellow).
The colour trend report also includes shades named Dried Herb (olive green), Marsala (winey red brown), Biscay Bay (teal), Cadmium Orange, Cashmere Rose (soft pink), Reflecting Pond (cool blue) and Amethyst Orchid. (PB)
