Some 11 Indian and international models, out of nearly 130 applicants, have been selected to walk on the runways of upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015, due to be held from March 18 to 22, 2015.
The final winners of the LFW Model Auditions, held at Palladium Hotel, Mumbai, were chosen by an eclectic panel of judges comprising some of the most experienced experts and stalwarts from the fashion industry.Some 11 Indian and international models, out of nearly 130 applicants, have been shortlisted to walk on the runways of upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week#
Speaking about the event, Purnima Lamba, head of innovation, Lakmé, said, “Over the last 15 years Lakmé has discovered some of the most sought after faces in the industry. A curator of runway fashion, Lakmé Fashion Week continues to be the perfect platform to discover some of the most beautiful faces from around the country and the model auditions are yet another way in which LFW reinvents the future of fashion.”
Saket Dhankar, head of fashion at the soiree organizer IMG Reliance, said in a statement, “Lakmé Fashion Week is known to bring forth some of the finest faces of fashion and runway divas. Model auditions are an integral part of the process each season to discover and infuse new talent into the event.”
“We acknowledge the vital role that models play in the success of a fashion week, this season too we are elated to have yet again introduced 11 promising faces to the fashion fraternity,” he adds.
Acts as a launch pad for budding models, the LFW Model Auditions’ judges’ panel included Sarah Jane Dais (model), Rohan Shrestha (photographer), fashion choreographers Lubna Adams and Rashmi Virmani, along with Saket Dhankar and Purnima Lamba. (PB)
