Tommy Hilfiger presents An American Love Story at NYFW

American label Tommy Hilfiger celebrated its 30th anniversary with a brand new Fall-2015 collection, An American Love Story, at the ongoing New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Replete with iconic looks from late 1960’s and early 70’s mixed with a vibrant game day spirit, the line is enhanced with the brand’s signature varsity details, faux fur and intarsia weaves.
A fine amalgamation of the established codes of American sportswear with luxuriously re-imagined twist of modern athleticwear elements, the range features highly textured outerwear pieces including lush Toscana shearling and double-faced alpaca duffle coats, stripes embroidered felted mohair capes and pea coats with brushed gold horn buttons.
The tactile outer clothing collection also featured extra long scholar scarves as well as an array of delicate lambskin piping adorned, contrasting wool and leather made stadium coats and coaches jackets.
The range’s classic entries were athletic-style sweatshirts, chunky knit cardigans with lace detailed shoulders, kick-pleat skirts, velvet and chiffon sheer-panelled dresses, and grosgrain ribbon accentuated multi-dimensional tweed suits and denim wool crepe separates in timeless shapes.
The F/W collection’s accessories assortment displayed wedge heeled football boots, gold sequined Mary Janes and the oversized soft lambskin anniversary clutch decorated with helmet motifs and football charms.
The Tommy Hilfiger show, which was staged at Park Avenue Armory, NY, was attended by noted celebrities and personalities like actress Rita Ora, Grammy Award winner Estelle, stylist Margaret Zhang and Korean-American model Irene Kim. (PB)
