The company’s director of design and merchandising, Kristin Sharp, talked about the new forecasts in a press release, “Our 2015 collection features a wide range of front to back of the house options for organisations to enhance their brands through stylish, distinctive apparel.”
“To gain a competitive edge in an improving economy, many of our clients are updating their apparel programmes with specific designs that reflect their brand. They also want programmes that give employees flexibility, a trend that’s strongly influenced by millennials,” she explains.
While describing the role played by Generation Y workers in shaping the trends, she states, “Millennials are becoming prevalent in the workforce, and they want garments that are fashionable. We’re seeing an increasing demand for apparel solutions that reflect retail trends, allowing for personal expression while retaining functionality. By integrating the latest trends, businesses can keep their associates looking and feeling fashionable.”
The predictions for workplace clothing include personalised mix-and-match bespoke garments, embellished aprons enhanced with denim, colour blocking and contrasting details, tailored chinos and utility shirts with shoulder epaulettes, contrast check pockets and zippers.
The colour scheme for 2015 features navy and shades of blue as primary bases for suiting and brighter pop shades like yellow and red for achieving colour blocking details. (PB)
