Limited Brands Inc announced the appointment of Shashi Batra as president of Victoria's Secret Beauty.

"Victoria's Secret Beauty has shown incredible promise both domestically and abroad. We are elated to have Shashi lead our team with his vast experience as a merchant in the beauty industry which is complemented by his international business acumen," said Leslie H. Wexner, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Limited Brands.

"I am excited to join Victoria's Secret Beauty, a well-established beauty brand that still has tremendous growth opportunities both in the United States and internationally. I am confident that we will make Victoria's Secret Beauty the best beauty brand in the world," said Batra.

Batra joins Victoria's Secret Beauty from his position as president of N.V. Perricone, where he was responsible for U.S. and global operations and led its dramatic growth across all channels during his tenure there. Before his role leading Perricone, Batra was one of the original founding members of Sephora USA. His previous leadership and merchandising work in beauty included growing the cosmetics businesses at major brands including Estee Lauder, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and Christian Dior.

Batra will join the company on Jan. 22, 2008, and will report to Sharen Jester Turney, president and chief executive officer of Victoria's Secret. Batra replaces Victoria's Secret Beauty Chief Executive Officer Christine Beauchamp.

Turney noted, "We are happy to welcome Shashi to our team. His talent lies in his special combination of fundamental industry knowledge and international beauty experience. I am confident he will move Victoria's Secret Beauty forward. I also want to thank Christine for all of her contributions that brought our beauty business to where we are today. We wish her well."

Victoria's Secret Beauty products are currently sold in Victoria's Secret Stores in the United States, in La Senza stores in Canada, on website and in seven other countries through duty-free shops and other retail outlets.
