Nordstrom to hire 500 local employees for Ala Moana store

Nordstrom Inc, one of the nation's leading fashion specialty retailers, will hire 500 local employees for its first full-line store in Hawaii opening Friday, March 7 at 9:30 a.m.

"Nordstrom is looking for people who love to sell and are passionate about fashion and giving great service to our customers," said Brian Tatsumura, store manager for the new Nordstrom at Ala Moana Center. Tatsumura emphasized that Nordstrom supports a promote-from-within philosophy.

"The best way to learn and understand the needs of the customer is by working on the sales floor. As our company grows, this philosophy offers our employees a wealth of opportunities for advancement."

Positions are available in all areas of operation including sales in men's, women's, and children's apparel, designer, shoes, accessories, cosmetics, as well as various support positions in alterations, housekeeping, the Marketplace Cafe and Ebar coffee bar.
