Oscar Presenter Nicole wears Sautoir at 80th Academy Awards

An extraordinary rough and polished diamond sautoir necklace designed by L'Wren Scott debuted on the Red Carpet at the 80th Academy Awards.

The spectacular sautoir, worn by Oscar Presenter Nicole Kidman, contains a total of 7645 diamonds including rough, faceted, and polished diamonds, which total nearly 1400 carats.

The sautoir, which was designed by Scott, produced and manufactured by Uni-Design Ltd in Paris and India uses a wide range of shapes and cuts of diamonds.

Each diamond was individually selected by the designer to fit together into an overall design. The intricate design required in excess of 6200 man hours to handcraft.

Diamonds have never been used in such a truly unique way on the Red Carpet. It is a tribute to the visionary direction of the designer that such an astounding quantity of diamonds can be worn so effortlessly.

L'Wren Scott is a talented designer of both a luxury clothing line and diamond jewelry. The diamond pieces she has designed have appeared on the Oscar red carpet in the past.

During her career in fashion she has established many loyal fans. Her new forays into clothing and jewelry further cement her as the style arbiter to celebrities and the fashion world alike.

Each FOREVERMARK diamond is a precious diamond. Individually inspected, FOREVERMARK diamonds have been cut and polished by master craftsmen to reveal their ultimate beauty and natural brilliance.

They also carry an assurance that they have been specially selected and preciously cared for at every step of their journey, and that they are genuine, natural and untreated.

Inscribed on the table facet of selected diamonds is a unique symbol and identification number. The five rough FOREVERMARK diamonds in this Sautoir have been inscribed with the unique numbers 82830001 to 82830005 and the fifty polished FOREVERMARK diamonds with the numbers 82830006 to 82830055.
