Liz Claiborne Inc announced that Craig Leavitt will join Kate Spade as Co-President & Chief Operating Officer, effective mid-April 2008.

Mr. Leavitt, who was previously President of Global Retail at Link Theory Holdings, will be responsible for providing and driving business performance through the wholesale and retail channels.

Mr. Leavitt will partner with Co-President & Creative Director, Deborah Lloyd, on the management and overall leadership of the Kate Spade brand. Both Mr. Leavitt and Ms. Lloyd will report to William L. McComb, Chief Executive Officer of Liz Claiborne Inc.

Mr. Leavitt comes to Kate Spade from Link Theory Holdings where he had total responsibility for merchandising, operations, planning and allocation and real estate for the Theory and Helmut Lang retail businesses.

Prior to that, he spent several years at Diesel where he was most recently Executive Vice President of Sales and Retail. Previously, Mr. Leavitt spent 16 years at Polo Ralph Lauren where he held positions of increasing responsibility, the last being Executive Vice President of Retail Concepts.

Commenting on the announcement, William L. McComb, Chief Executive Officer of Liz Claiborne Inc said: "We are thrilled that Craig has agreed to join Kate Spade.

His retail experience combined with his strong strategic planning, leadership and communication skills are the perfect complement to Deborah's creative talent.

Craig oversaw tremendous growth with Theory and Helmut Lang and he is eager to apply those learnings here. With Deborah and Craig at the helm, Kate Spade is poised to reach the next level and become a true, global lifestyle brand."

Mr. Leavitt said: "I am thrilled to be at Kate Spade and particularly excited to be working with Deborah, whose intimate understanding of and vision for the brands she oversees is something I have long admired.

Kate Spade is primed to take off and I am looking forward to working with Deborah and the team there to optimize this position and the brands' amazing potential."
