Gaurav Gupta showcases masterpieces on Day 2 of WLWF

The ensembles which appeared mysteriously out of the fog can beyond doubt be called masterpieces of the art of contouring and draping which Gaurav Gupta is known and celebrated for.
The designer presented outfits for both daywear and evening wear for men as well as for women.
The understated colour palette included smokey greys, matted golds and washed mermaid greens. Lightweight flowing crepes, chiffons and satins were intricately folded, draped and moulded around the human body to created silhouettes which appeared sculpted at the top and flared out to organic flowing asymmetrically cut hems.
The menswear range had black fully pleated coats with kimono sleeves and smartly paneled fitted jackets combined with pants draped at hip and thigh level.
Gaurav Gupta's creations do not need additional ornamentations. The layered details are decorative and body enhancing at the same time. Flowing dresses seem to be glued to upper torso and opened gently towards the bottom while organic metallic embellishments seemed to almost creep and grow around the body contours.
In the end, a golden metal coat entered the ramp which in its glamorous stiffness and robotic movement demonstrated the antithesis of the soft and fluid collection and that way confirmed the strong style statement of this programme.
