Ms Neha Aneja wins SDC Student's Design Competition

The global winner will receive the SDC Colour Design Award 2008, with a cash prize of £1000, plus the Veronica Bell Trophy.
The winning college will also receive a prize. Pantone Asia will be supporting this year's global competition and is donating a Pantone Cotton Passport for each of the overseas winners.
The Indian leg of National Design Competition was held on 26 th February. Over 87 submissions were received from 15 Institutes from entire cross section of India viz, Pearl Academy of Fashion , Army Institute of Fashion Design, Maharaja Sayajirao University, National Institute of Design, Garden City of College, NIFT, Kumaraguru College of Technology, NIFT – Tirupur Exporters Association Fashion Inst, Tamilnadu Open University CED Centre, Indian Institute of Textile Training, Nandha Arts and Science College, Hindustan Arts and Science, Nirmala Niketan Polytechnic, Nirmala Niketan Degree College, L.S. Raheja, B.D.Somani.
The distinguished Jury short listed Mr. Amit Kumar from NIFT Gandhinagar and Ms. Neha Aneja of Pearl Academy of Fashion New Delhi as the finalists and their entries are selected for the final round to select the winner from India who shall represent India at the SDC's Global Competition. The finalists received a Gift Voucher from Mr. Prasad Pabrekar of Spykar Jeans.
Sharing her experience Neha Aneja said “I developed prints for beach wear and my inspiration was 'starfish'. I went to Mumbai with all my work which was done during academic years for an interview by the jury members, and there I got to know that I am the one who will be representing India for the final SDC competition.
Being there with society members I got to know more about this society. As I always notice that there are many competitions being held for fashion design students but I was happy to know that this society is giving opportunities especially to the textile design students to show their talents.
This is how even textile designers will find a platform to gain confidence in their work. They will also be providing me with a grooming session for further portfolio development”.
