LaCrosse Footwear Inc, a leading provider of branded work and outdoor footwear, announced that its Danner subsidiary received a new business order for $1.3 million from the U.S. Army.
Danner will supply soldiers with 9,350 pairs of the Danner Explorer boot for a delivery order of $1.3 million in the second quarter of 2008. Traditionally sold as an outdoor mountain hiking boot, the Danner Explorer was selected by the U.S. Army for its durability, specialized performance capabilities, and lower profile that allows for flexibility of movement especially in rugged outdoor terrain. These boots are manufactured in the Company's ISO 9001-2000 certified manufacturing facility located in Portland, Ore.
“We strive to create the best quality products to meet the specialized demands of today's soldiers,” said Joseph P. Schneider, president and CEO of LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. “It is with great pride and honor that we are able to provide the U.S. Army high-performance footwear. Our dedication to the craft of making high-performance, quality footwear has given us the opportunity to help support our dedicated men and women in uniform.”
Danner continues to meet the unique demands and specific design requirements for multiple branches of the Armed Forces and has recently fulfilled significant boot orders with the U.S. Marine Corps. Danner military products are available through retail, at Exchange stores on Marine Corps, Army and Air Force military bases, and on Danner's Web site.
