Portico presents a colourful sensation at LFW

It was one of the most colourful and creatively satisfying shows at the Lakme Fashion Week, but it had nothing to do with women's wear, but everything to do with what your home will wear.

Portico New York's latest collection Supernature created a colourful sensation at the Lakme Fashion Week with a line up of garments created from the most luxurious home furnishing.

The Supernature collection inspired by the beauty of nature was created by the in-house Portico Design team. Multi-colours were brought in to create geometric and floral patterns to dress up homes and bathrooms.

From tonal combinations to fresh peach, earthy brown, skin tones to aqua, fawn, teal, sea blue, baby pink, sun yellow, vibrant red; the colour palette encompassed an unbelievably wide selection.

Converting bed linen into beautifully designed dresses, skirts, figure hugging minis, blouses, gowns, empire line baby doll dresses, kerchief skirts in multi patterns, wrap around long maxis, strappy summer knee length frocks and tiny shrugs worn over pretty bubble and blouson dresses, Portico proved that its product had a lot of attitude and style.

Accessories had a touch of humour as long sashes, bandanas, turbans, tasseled lampshades as hats, large multicolor bags, umbrellas and corsages for the neck, hands and hair added that fun element and lots of colour.

The showstopper, budding stage actor Shazahn Padamsee in an elegant resort gown was a fitting end to a very trendy show.

The Supernature collection comprises bed sheet sets, comforters, pillow covers, duvet covers, towels etc which give customers the options of matching pillow cover designs to the bed sheets to create mix and match bed linen sets. The collection will retail from April 3 2008 in stores.

Portico New York's Supernature collection proved that dressing up the home can be as glamorous an experience as shopping for a personal wardrobe.
