Along with the Gen Next show, rising stars also created a single garment inspired by their vision of a pollution free world of Lakme Pure Defense.

The labels RA and KOGA scored with the jury comprising Anil Chopra VP, Lakme Unilever, Fern Mallis, Senior VP IMG and Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

The Lakme Gen Next Show was a great platform and featured eight names which will be the new stars on the fashion horizon in the country.

RA BY RAJESH AND ANIRBAN:
Inspired by a girl called Rose in a war devastated world, the creations by the duo had variations of blues as the focal point with muted tones like grey, anthrax, brown for silhouettes that brought together the yin and yang of fashion.

Layered with either structured or fluid shapes the fabrics ranged from georgettes, tweeds, yarn dyed and printed plaids, mohair, lace, cord, leather along with silk cotton wool and polyester viscose. It was a stylish old world look with a contemporary touch.

NEELANJAN GHOSH:
It's the past that inspired the designer whose collection goes by the saying 'old is gold' so renaissance motifs in embroidery reflected the beauty of days gone by in colours like chocolate, plum, olive, teal, petrol, grey, emerald with hints of pink, red, peach, yellow.

From pretty dresses to delicately quilted jackets, shrugs, waistcoats and sweatshirts the fabric story is rich with silk, satin, velvet and knit for the utterly feminine collection.

SAILEX NGARANGBAM:
Working on an emerald green, black and white silk colour story, Sailex was inspired by a cartoon character Emily.
