Unusual designs with innovative touches displays forte of Dev R Nil

They are known to give women's wear innovative touches each season and this time for Autumn/Winter 2008 at the Lakme Fashion Week they did not disappoint their admires.

Drawing inspirations from the high tech world of the 21st century, Dev R Nil's Pixel Dreams was a collection that was avant garde without being too futuristic.

Using Muga georgette, silk Lurex and stretch vinyl along with raw silk, organza, stretch satin and georgette they worked on specific parts of the garments to give them unconventional shapes.

Their key areas of emphasis were the stylishly extended shoulder, box sleeves and hem volume. To this they added the age old technique of hand block print and discharge printing to achieve some great texturing with pixilated polkas, block hummingbirds and pixel squares besides adding on appliqué and Japanese bead work. The result was a collection of western wear and four saris each turning out into a timeless creation.

Keeping the theme in control the pair had a beautiful magenta silver organza square scales textured jacket with Lurex yoke, black dress with quilted and embroidered skirt and organza sleeves, the stunning black georgette sari with patent leather appliqué and Lurex border, magenta georgette rose embroidered sari with box pleated border worn with black Lurex organza Armour shirt and the stunning red Muga silk panelled long dress with godets and bubble hem.

Pixel Dreams by Dev R Nil was a collection that was a perfect combination of not only creative designing skills and innovative garment construction but a very practical and wearable line that will be a hot buy for women not only in India but around the world.
