All the big news that Mido has in store for 2009 shows that it is the industry's largest international showcase.

Anyone wanting to find out more about the industry should keep himself free and put the 9-12 May dates on his agenda.

Four busy days of meetings and appointments, pavilions to discover and new products to learn about, new opportunities to make contacts that lead to business deals.

For the second consecutive year the International Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology Exhibition will be hosted in the Rho-Pero complex, on the outskirts of Milan.

The modern and functional exhibition layout is perfect for the new Fiera Milano spaces which last year gave the event a wider reach than in previous years.

The partial figures for this year –as of March – show that the exhibition is growing: more than 53,000 square meters of net exhibition space, up from last year's record which was +15% over 2006, with the number of exhibitors reaching 1,240. With just a month to go before the exhibition opens, these figures are truly amazing.

Mido owes its success to the fact that it has listened to the needs and requests of its users, giving importance and exposure to new, attention-grabbing areas like Mido Design Lab which will be back ready to meet everybody in Pavilion 6.

These days 'design' eyewear is a market segment true and proper, with continuing research into new combinations of shapes, colors and materials.

This area is where you can find the most innovative design products that are the result of intensive testing into materials, carefully studying new styles that are more appealing and surprising and extreme research to give a shape to ideas! This creative powerhouse churns out “special” products, whose pulling-power is bound to last over the years.
