Color may lift your mood

Believe it or not, color can affect your mood. We are surrounded by this every day, when choosing what to wear, what car to drive, and even what color pen to write with.

This season is all about color and it's popping up everywhere even in casual and athletic wear. For Mother's Day, think about what color makes your mom feel her best.

"Never underestimate the power of accessories to brighten an outfit," says Lauren Bristow, vp of brand marketing, Lady Foot Locker.

"Accessorizing the neutral tones you already have in your closet with splashes of vibrant color is one way to wear this season's hottest trend."

Here are some tips on how to use color to boost Mom's mood:
- Mixing and matching brilliant colors is a fun way to update Mom's wardrobe and offer her variety.

It's also an inexpensive way to achieve multiple looks with just a few new pieces. Lady Foot Locker has an assortment of tanks and tees in bright colors and fun prints that are great to layer or wear on their own.

- For a daring head-to-toe look, pair a bright colored top with one of this season's must-haves -- multi-colored plaid shorts! A classic shoe, like the Converse Chuck Taylor in radiant acid tones is the perfect finish for a complete mood make-over.

- If your mom feels her best in neutral tones, an easy way to infuse some of this season's brilliant hues is by adding just a little color to a look she's already comfortable in.

Try Nike's modern jacket in a feminine color, like pink, and pair it with a capri length pant in neutral grey, then complete the look with coordinating footwear, like the Nike Shox Reveal II in silver with pink accents.
