Giorgio Armani welcomes Mr Bruno Laguardia as US Chief

Giorgio Armani S.p.A. announces the appointment of Bruno Laguardia, 61, as Chief Executive Officer of Giorgio Armani Corporation, its wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary.

Mr. Laguardia has been responsible for spearheading the creation and organization of Trimil S.p.a, a joint venture between Giorgio Armani Group and Zegna Group, established in 2000, established to oversee manufacturing and distribution of the “Armani Collezioni” menswear line. Mr. Laguardia began his career at Bassetti Group, an international manufacturer and distributor of home textile products, followed by executive postings with Ermenegildo Zegna Group.

Opened in 1983, Giorgio Armani Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Giorgio Armani S.p.A., overseeing all of the company's operations in the US, with over 800 employees and a directly controlled retail network of 12 Giorgio Armani boutiques, two Armani/Casa stores, 11 Emporio Armani stores, 7 General Stores and two Armani/Café's. The US market today represents around 24 % of the Giorgio Armani's wholesale revenues (year ended 31 December 2007).
