Akshaya Trithiya is the festival of prosperity and good fortune.

In keeping with the festive spirit Tanishq, India's largest jewellery brand has announced its special Akshaya Trithiya offer, allowing customers to usher in prosperity and enjoy pure jewellery this season.

The Akshaya Trithiya offer entitles customers to book the jewellery of their choice in advance and purchase it on Akshaya Trithiya Day at the booked rate.

The pre-booking offer which is valid from 29th April to 8th May 2008, allows the customers to hedge the rising prices of gold by pre-booking jewellery in advance and purchasing it on Akshaya Tritiya at the booked rate.

All one has to do is to make a nominal advance payment of 25% and reap the benefits of the pre-booking offer. Also, the offer provides customers to avail of a 10% discount on making charges on 22kt gold jewellery.

Tanishq has also announced a discount of 5% on diamond-studded and platinum jewellery. This offer is valid till May 8th 2008.

Akshaya Trithiya, the third day of the new moon of Vaishakh month (April-May), is considered one of the four most auspicious days of the Vedic Calendar.

On this day the sun and the moon are simultaneously at their peak of brightness. This year Akshaya Trithiya falls on the two days - 7th and 8th May.

Gold and gold jewellery bought and worn on this day signify the never diminishing good fortune. Tanishq pays tribute to this philosophy with the announcement of the pre-booking offer.

During the offer period customers will have wide-ranging options in traditional and contemporary designs in pure 22k gold and studded jewellery that reflect the essence of prosperity, hope and good fortune that the day stands for.
