Intl fair to add sparkle in domestic gem & jewellary sector

Exhibition & Convention Centre in HCM City, Vietnam, is dazzling and sparkling these days as International Jewellery Viet Nam (IJV) 2008 is going on here. The event has brought some of the most renowned jewellary houses and designers from world over. The radiant exhibition began on May 2, will be concluding tomorrow.

World Trade Fair Co Ltd and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Fair Organisation Co have jointly organized the expo. This is a golden opportunity, not only for retailers and buyers but also for private collectors as the event is covering all the aspects that are related to ornament sector including marketing, tools required, display and packaging.

The jewellary sector is enthusiastically displaying exclusive range of products including diamonds, precious stones, watches and pearls, in front of global customers, in order to build strong network for getting new export orders.

According to the available statistics, national consumption of gold and jewellary pieces is nearly 30 to 35 tons annually. Vietnam Gemstones and Jewellery Association is anticipating the domestic demand for diamonds and semi-precious stones to reach almost US $300 million this year.

The people associated with jewellary sector believe that, Vietnam still has to prove itself in the global market and to achieve that, domestic enterprises need to understand the trends that exist in international domain. With such exhibitions taking place, the country is trying to reach its goal.
