Export of footwear escalates in Q1

With increasingly tough environment, footwear enterprises face greater pressures in operation, some enterprises have already exited export channel, especially small and medium sized private enterprises.
Customs data showed that in Q1 the number of shoes exporters of China decreased to 6,646 from 8,093, among them 1,380 were domestic enterprises.
The footwear industry is still an important contributor in national export items. However, the challenges from developing countries that are manufacturing low cost shoes have made the domestic entrepreneurs worried about their future.
