FDDI signs MoU with German LDT Nagold Institute

Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with & LDT Nagold (Germany) for broad range of collaboration to promote quality education, research & development. The MoU is based on the strength of existing competencies of the two organizations.

FDDI, which is rated among the premier fashion institutions in the world is widely recognized as a centre of excellence & conducts wide range of long term and short term programmes in the area of Retail Management, Fashion, Footwear Design, Technology, Management, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Creative Designing & CAD/CAM, Leather Goods & Accessories Design etc.

The long-term programmes are of two to three years duration while short-term programme of six-month duration.

LDT Nagold is one of the most prestigious institutes in Germany. It has been established by a consortium comprising of some of the most prominent Retail organizations of the world.

It has over 60 yrs of experience in the area of Retail education, research & training. This experience has endowed it with competence in this field that few can rival.

Citing about the relevance & requirement of signing this MoU, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI said, “In order to keep in line with the fast paced growth of the global Fashion and Retail Industry and maintain the international standard of delivery in the area of Retail, Fashion and Merchandising it is important for institution like FDDI to work in close networking with the institutes of international repute specialized in the specific areas.

The signing of MoU is a step in the right direction to provide fashion and retail management education with international repute.”

Under the terms of the MoU, the scope of the strategic alliance will include joint R&D programme, exchange of academic staff & faculty, exchange of PG & UG students for limited period for the benefit of the students and faculty.

“In accordance with the terms of cooperation both the institutes will facilitate active exchange of research material, publications and undertake joint research programs/projects involving the academia of the two institutes.” - Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI.
