Autore pearls shine at Town & Country Design Awards

Couture held its prestigious Town and Country 2008 Design Awards, at the Wynn Las Vegas from May 28 to June 2, where renowned international jewellery makers displayed their exquisite creations.

This year's new online system had allowed exhibitors to enter their designs online, so that retailers and media could cast their vote in advance. Being one of the most sought-after awards in jewellery industry, all the companies work hard round the year to get this esteemed honour.

The award was given in 10 categories and the list of winners include Katharine James for her beautiful bridal collection, Sevan walked away with prize in colored gemstones, Arunashi in diamonds, Pamela Froman Fine Jewellery in gold and Valente Giojelljeri in haute couture segment.

Todd Reed was bestowed with award for his natural-colored diamonds, BLU by Betty Lou Moscot won the best 'newcomer' of the year, Erica Courtney in platinum and Armenta in silver jewellery section.

Autore, the Australian brand received the trophy in pearl category for its Atlantis necklace, that comprised of 88 pearls along with other precious stones including diamonds, sapphires, aquamarines and tourmalines.

The necklace was highly appreciated, for it could be detached into 32 separate pieces, that can be worn as brooches or pendants.

Other international labels present at the awards were Bulgari, Chanel, Cartier, and Hermes.
