Three leading shoes manufacturing companies of Taiwan including Genfort Shoes, Xin Chang Shoe and Super Protective, have signed an agreement with Bangladesh, for relocating their units from China and establish them in the country. These three shoemakers will approximately invest US $118 million in Bangladesh.
According to the experts, major reasons that have lured the global footwear companies to shift their units here include, easy availability of cheap and skilled labour and weak currency. This automatically reduces their cost of production and in turn increases profit margins.
The Bangladeshi Government is making extra efforts to attract international companies as this will help in lifting the economy of the nation and will also provide enormous job opportunities for the local people.
