After six seasons exhibiting in São Paulo, stylist Carlos Tufvesson returns with all his glamour to the catwalks of Fashion Rio and declares his love for the city that acclaimed him, dressing the crème de la crème of Rio society.
In this 2009 summer collection, Tufvesson was inspired by Rio's contradictions, creating sophisticated models for opposing women who live in this city.
In short, dresses with volume in the skirts, but with tighter-fitting tops. The brand calls these “dance shapes”. The cocktail dresses were also present with rigid busts and asymmetrical structure.
The handmade appears in the form of straight folds and also in more organic appliqués. Pleats in different directions, cut out shapes in the tops that mix different fabrics in the same hue, reinforced knee-length skirts, tubes, short shorts, delicate gold Lurex yarn creating stripes in silk with prints, shiny sequins in the organic prints complete the collection.
The colors and prints come from the city: from the sea, the sunset, the relief and the architecture of Rio. In other words, hues of sand, greens, blues and rose.
