Going beyond the realm of jewellery, they are now popularly attached to mobile phones, USB flash drives, MP3 players, belt chains, key chains, bags and sneakers, among many others.

At leading jewellery fairs around the globe, there is renewed interest in gold charms. Even the big fashion houses have joined the bandwagon.

Contemporary pieces come in different colours of gold yellow, white and pink and adorned with stones, enamel as well as non traditional materials such as pebbles and wood.

These iconic creations allow mixing and matching, which create new expressive combinations using the same set of charms. Thus they appeal to people who have the creative flair and who are fond of collectible items.

Al Saheb adds: “Gold charms allow jewellery lovers more freedom and creativity in coming up with their desired look. The Do-It-Yourself ethos it promotes opens up new possibilities of how we look at jewellery and make them integral to different lifestyles”.
