Exhibition that explores fashion styles over the past 40 years

Vivid Photography Festival is a first ever exhibition in the country, that is aimed to reflect various transformations Australian clothes have gone through while imbibing the changing faces of fashion, over the past 40 years.

Along with nearly 100 exhibitions of photographs which will continue till October 12 at various venues, other events like fashion shows, seminars and conferences are also organized to make this event more lively and popular among the visitors.

The design competition which was held as part of the Strike a Pose expo at the National Archives of Australia, had students from different institutes displaying their stunning creations. The show gave a perfect platform to the budding designers to showcase their talent in front of fashion conscious spectators. Lin Chin, a renowned news reader, was the judge for the fashionable event.

The contestants designed outfits that included formal clean cut suits in bright colours, evening dresses that had laces and elaborate embroidery for highlighting the delicate designs. As well as electrifying party wear inspired from bohemian trends which dominated the rock-n-roll era of 70s.

From all the stylish and extremely creative garments that had set the stage on fire, designs of Natalie Turtle were highly appreciated, making her the winner. Formal wear of the third year Canberra fashion student, will be now worn by Lin Chin, while broad casting news.

Natalie is ecstatic with the response she has received form the spectators as well as the judge and said that it has given boost to her confidence, which will surely help her while launching her own stylish clothing brand, By The Wing.

The onlookers also got a chance to look at the photographs that reflected various trends that have prevailed on ramp, including catwalk and constantly changing and evolving fashion of the country in the last 40 years.
