Spring/Summer 2009 Rock'n'Roll meets Art Déco

Berlin Mitte's SevenStarGallery drew the crowds: Lala Berlin owner and designer Leyla Piedayesh and Thorsten Heinze, curator and owner of SevenStarGallery, presented “Fashion meets Art” during the 3rd edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

During the press reception, Lala Berlin presented its new Spring/Summer collection 2009 “Rock'n'Roll meets Art Déco“. With its unusual atmosphere, SevenStarGallery provided the perfect setting for Leyla's designs – inspired by rock'n roll's wild freedom and the cool objectivity that characterises Art Déco. Mixing with the guests, the models brilliantly revived the rock'n roll glamour of days gone by.

With its clean cuts and high-quality materials matched with clear lines and big prints the collection is truly impressive. Delicate silk, crêpe de Chine and dazzling sequins meet regular to rough-woven linen, fine silk-cotton mixes or slightly transparent linen jersey. Casual knitwear coats and vests, combined with short skirts and rolled-up trousers paired with tanktops complete the festival look as well as reflect Lala Berlin's take on Berlin's urban chic.

Close to 400 guests received the mix of fashion and art with enthusiasm: well-known press representatives rubbed shoulders with private art lovers and international celebrities like Mischa Barton.
