ColorTry lets you envision a new hair color in seconds

Want to find your true color this fall? Previewing a new hair-color is now as simple as uploading a photo and clicking a mouse button with ModiFace's new fully-automated, patent-pending hair technology, ColorTry. Now, consumers can realistically envision themselves with a new hair-color in just seconds by uploading a picture at ColorTry.com or taking a new photo at a kiosk, located inside malls, hair salons and fashion stores around the country.
ModiFace Inc. presents ColorTry, an online program that employs face-recognition technology to find the subject's hair on a high-quality frontal picture and change the hue to the user's desired color. The technology automatically detects where the hair and facial features are located in the photo. It is the only program on the market that realistically re-colors hair in an existing photo, rather than simply moving a pre-made hairstyle over the existing hairdo.
“Our ColorTry technology creates a much more personal look at a new hair-color before the customer actually makes any decisions,” remarked Parham Aarabi, President of Modiface, Inc. “We're currently working with beauty outlets to bring the new kiosk, which employs both our ColorTry hair-color and our HairMixer hairstyle programs, into stores and malls across the country.”
By visiting ColorTry.com, customers upload a high-quality frontal photograph of themselves, and in literally seconds, their photo is automatically processed by the system. They can then view their photo with hundreds of hair shades by making a single click on a color palette. Palette colors include blond, brunette and redhead shades, as well as exotic and custom colors. Customers can even e-mail the photo to a friend or to themselves when they have found the color they want.
In addition to the website, ModiFace has developed a line of kiosks that the company will be placing inside malls, hair salons and fashion stores across the country. The kiosks take the customer's picture directly, allowing them to 'try-on' new hair colors in literally seconds using ColorTry.
