BASF to focus on innovative products at ACLE

The All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) will be held September 3 - 5, 2008 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. BASF will be located in Hall W2 on Booth C 08.
This year, BASF will be focusing on innovative products and processes that offer distinct ecological and economic advantages as well as displaying its extensive range of established products for use at all stages of the production process.
The new Densodrin EP and the new Lepton Aquatop TG are the highlights at this year's exhibition, and new products from the Lepton and Relugan ranges that have been specially developed for the Chinese market will also be displayed.
Joachim Henkmann, head of BASF's leather business in East Asia, emphasized the growing importance of sustainability and the environment: “All our products and processes focus on environmentally friendly and economical solutions. Our customers expect and demand high-quality ecological products that meet their individual requirements. Our new Lepton and Relugan ranges will satisfy these demands.”
An international team of experts will be in attendance to advise customers and to inform them about our innovative new developments and our extensive range of established, high-quality products.
Densodrin EP: High performance water-proofed leather with new chemistry
Densodrin EP is the first product of a new generation of the Densodrin range. Densodrin EP combines more than 30 years' experience and the advantages of state-of-the-art R&D developments. Due to the new chemistry, the dyeability is more even and the product is more stable during application, especially in hard water.
Furthermore the dry surfaces make finishing easier. When it comes to environmental friendliness, Densodrin EP is a big step forward. It is recommended for all types of leather, especially shoe uppers, which require high performance (Maeser-and Bally -Penetrometer tests).
Lepton Aquatop TG: For a natural touch and transparent look
Applying Lepton Aquatop TG in the top coat offers a simple but effective means of obtaining transparent finishes with high gloss. The product can be combined with many other products. Together with casein binders like Luron, very glossy surfaces can be achieved.
In combination with Luron Top, very transparent finishes can be obtained. Good results in wet rub fastness can even be increased by adding silicone waxes and by using crosslinking agents. Furthermore the product offers an excellent price-to-performance ratio. Lepton Aquatop TG can be used for all kinds of leather, but is especially recommended for shoe uppers, furniture and garment leather.
