Pearl Academy of Fashion REJOICES freshers at Orientation

Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF), India's leading fashion institute organised its Orientation ceremony for their 2008 batch. As part of PAF's orientation programme Ms. Gurpreet Sidhu, Promoter, People Tree, Mr. Sutanu Panigrahi, Chief Designer, People Tree & Mr. Nitin Bal Chauhan, Fashion Designer were present as jury members and guests to welcome the freshers.
Setting the context in his welcome address, Group Director A.K.G. Nair informed new students about the new courses launched this year like Fashion Styling & Image Design and the foray into distance education.
The speech was followed by an interesting on the spot competition fashion show by freshers on the concept of Re…reuse, recycle, recreate and rejoice (all about recycling waste). Freshers were given the task to stylize and display their innovative designs following the theme of Indian mythology, Gothic, Super Heroes and Cartoon characters using industry waste such as left over cloth, ropes, newspaper, pompoms (made out of waste), ribbons, socks and bindis.
Existing students had worked the whole of July on backdrop, ramp, invites, posters, presentation, kits for the ceremony and many more things. The four hundred strong freshers were held spellbound by the preparations and depths of work by their seniors and were very excited to begin their journey into the world of fashion. The focus of the event was to inspire the first year entrants to think independently and to realize the importance of the creative journey they are embarking on.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. AKG Nair, Group Director- Pearl Academy of Fashion said, "The USP of our institute is the ability to evolve continuously. It is always a moment of great pride to witness the exquisite showcase of creative innovations. I see a huge potential and creativity in these freshers and it gives me great pleasure to be a part of this Orientation ceremony. On behalf of the academy I welcome all the freshers and wish them all the best in their future endeavours."
