The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) announced the appointment of two new members to the AAFA Board of Directors.
Jim Tompkins, president and COO of New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc, will join the AAFA Board of Directors and AAFA Executive Committee, assuming the remainder of outgoing John Larsen's, president emeritus of New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc, three-year term.
Michael McBreen, president of global operations of Wolverine World Wide Inc, will complete the board term of Art Croci, who retired as Wolverine's president of global operations earlier this year.
“John and Art have been active members of the AAFA board and will be sorely missed,” said AAFA Board of Directors Chairman Peter J. Gabbe, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Carole Hochman Design Group.
“However, I am confident that Jim and Michael will make a smooth transition in representing New Balance and Wolverine as we welcome them to this group of distinguished industry executives.”
“Over the years, John and Art have provided steady guidance and invaluable counsel to me and everyone at AAFA,” agreed Kevin M. Burke, president and CEO, AAFA. “I wish them both well in their future activities, and look forward to working closely with Jim and Michael.”
