After two years of preparatory work Baltika received purchase orders from a leading European department store chain Peek&Cloppenburg. The fashion retail chain recognised the design of the women's collection of Baltika's Mosaic brand and will include the collection in its product offer. Baltika will ship the first orders in November of this year.

According to CEO of Baltika Meelis Milder, this was good news for Baltika's wholesale volumes which are falling in accordance with the company's plans. “The strategic objective is to move the focus of wholesale from Russia to Western Europe. Peek&Cloppenburg´s order is the first more serious achievement in this direction,“ stated Milder.

Milder is convinced that wholesale to Peek&Cloppenburg will give Mosaic a solid launch position in Western Europe. “Being represented in one of the most prestigious stores in Europe will also send a signal to other department stores that are today not selling Mosaic as yet,“ commented Milder.

The Mosaic collection will be offered in 13 department stores in five countries, the first orders will be fulfilled in November this year already. According to Meelis Milder, the real potential for co-operation is even greater. “In order to reach bigger orders, we will have to prove during a couple of seasons that we will be able to ensure success in sales and the quality of products and of supplies,” added Milder.

Peek&Cloppenburg is the largest department store chain in Germany comprising over 80 department stores in the country and altogether over 100 department stores in Europe. Besides Germany, Peek&Cloppenburg is represented in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, etc.

The fashion retailer is offering a wide selection of quality brands including Burberry, Hugo Boss, Pierre Cardin, Marco Polo, Gerry Weber, Mexx, Esprit, s.Oliver, Tommy Hilfiger and Tom Tailor among others.

Cooperation with Western European partners is the strategic direction of Baltika's wholesale. Presently, Baltika's main wholesale partners are located in the Baltic countries, Russia and Finland. Recently, Baltika launched wholesale in Belorussia.
