The Walking Company, the world's largest specialty retailer of comfort footwear, announced a lucky winner in Bedford, Texas, will receive the first smart fortwo vehicle in the 'Think Smart, Be Planet Friendly' weekly car give away during August.
"When I registered at The Walking Company I did not really think I would win, so when I got the call I was in shock," said Joann W. of Bedford, Texas. "It is an amazing feeling to win such a big prize... it literally brought me to tears. I am excited to be the first in my neighborhood to have the new smart car."
The Walking Company's 'Think Smart, Be Planet Friendly' promotion features the exclusive launch of PlanetWalkers by Simple, the most comfortable and eco-friendly shoes on the planet.
The promotion also highlights the Sierra Club's efforts to preserve and protect our planet and offers the chance to win three more vehicles from smart USA (NYSE: PAG). Simple's new PlanetWalkers will be exclusively available at The Walking Company during the promotion running from mid-July through August 28th.
The partnerships with smart USA, distributors of the smart line of vehicles from Mercedes, and the Sierra Club, America's largest grassroots environmental organization, are geared to bring attention to environmental stewardship issues among consumers and generate excitement by offering a chance to win a new ultra-low emission and fuel-efficient smart fortwo every week during the month of August.
"This promotion provides customers the opportunity to win a new car and we are excited to present the increasingly popular smart fortwo to our first winner," said David Wolf, senior vice president of marketing and sales at The Walking Company.
"Through August 28th, customers can register to win one of the remaining three vehicles. While visiting our stores, we hope they'll try on the ultra-comfortable PlanetWalkers and take a moment to learn more about efforts by the Sierra Club and within the comfort footwear industry to protect our environment."
