Westfield Valley Fair and Neiman Marcus Group officials announced plans to build a new Neiman Marcus store at Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose/Santa Clara, further establishing the shopping center as one of the premiere fashion destinations in northern California. The new 120,000 square foot, two-level Neiman Marcus store is expected to open in the fall of 2011.

For more than a century, Neiman Marcus, the Dallas-based fashion specialty retailer, has focused on serving the unique needs of the luxury market, setting the standard for superior quality, exclusive items, and outstanding customer service.

The Neiman Marcus Group operates 40 Neiman Marcus stores across the United States and two Bergdorf Goodman stores in Manhattan.

"We are particularly pleased, just days after the successful opening of our latest store at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park, California to be partnering again with Westfield at Valley Fair.

We look forward to bringing our quality merchandise assortments and renowned services to the Silicon Valley market," said Wayne Hussey, senior vice president of Properties for The Neiman Marcus Group.

In addition to Neiman Marcus, the planned expansion of Westfield Valley Fair includes a brand new 150,000 square foot Bloomingdale's, a new wing for a collection of up to 70 new specialty retail shops and additional fine dining, along with new structured parking for approximately 3,000 new spaces. The new Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's will join existing retail magnets Nordstrom and Macy*s.

"We are thrilled with the addition of Neiman Marcus," said John Widdup, Westfield Managing Director and U.S. Chief Operating Officer. "It's a strong commitment to this market, and one we share.

As we continue to reinvest and to work in cooperation with the cities of San Jose and Santa Clara, Westfield Valley Fair will emerge as the destination for great fashion shopping in Silicon Valley and beyond."

The Neiman Marcus Group Inc operations includes the Specialty Retail Stores segment and the Direct Marketing segment. The Specialty Retail stores segment consists primarily of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores.

The Direct Marketing segment conducts both online and print catalog operations under the Neiman Marcus, Horchow, and Bergdorf Goodman brand names.

Westfield Valley Fair is a joint venture between the Westfield Group and JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management on behalf of the Strategic Property Fund, a co-mingled pension trust fund.

The Westfield Group is an Australian-based company with interests in 118 shopping centers in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

In the U.S, Westfield has a portfolio of 55 shopping centers that are home to more than 9,000 specialty stores and comprise approximately 63 million square feet of leasable space in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Washington.
