A concept pioneered by Westside; this is a significant step to bridge the gap between exclusive designer wear and the fashion conscious Indian consumers. This program provides young designers an opportunity to work with a renowned fashion retailer and access to a large consumer base.

Commenting on the initiative, Mrs. Simone Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Trent said, “Westside's 'Designer Development Program' whilst encouraging young talent to bring their creations closer to the consumers will also ensure that our clientele gets exclusive designer wear at unbelievable prices”

Under the DDP, designers Vivek Kumar and Vivek Karunakaran were selected from the last season of LFW's Emerging Designers' category. These designers along with their mentor Narendra Kumar have created an exclusive designer prêt line for Westside which will be showcased in the Westside stores.

Westside's distinguished selection board which comprises of Mrs. Simone Tata, designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Gaurav Mahajan, Head-Buying, Westside, will select designers from LFW season 2 on the following parameters; Creativity, Technical knowledge of garments and textiles, Ability to adapt to mass fashion retailing.
