JAFRA Cosmetics strengthens leadership team

JAFRA COSMETICS INTERNATIONAL Inc (JAFRA) announced two key personnel appointments designed to strengthen its U.S. division and worldwide brand integrity.

Scottish-born Janice Jackson is named Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, JAFRA Worldwide. In her new position, Jackson is responsible for developing targeted market, brand, product and communications strategies for the company worldwide, which currently includes an international network of 500,000 independent beauty consultants in 24 countries.

Jackson also is directly responsible for leadership of the Worldwide Marketing and Research and Development teams and will provide guidance to local marketing teams in the U.S., Mexico, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, and future markets. In addition to developing a strong corporate brand integrity, and product portfolio, Jackson is also responsible for corporate strategic planning. Her appointment was effective June 16, 2008

Connie Tang is named President, JAFRA USA. Connie is responsible for developing dynamic strategies, initiatives and objectives to create market growth in the U.S. General market and the U.S. Hispanic market segments. Additionally, Connie will lead a team of approximately 250 employees and support 80,000 independent consultants in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Her appointment was effective July 7, 2008.

Jackson and Tang, both members of JAFRA's Management Board, also are charged with reinvigorating JAFRA's flexible selling model.

Prior to joining JAFRA, Jackson was Executive Director, Innovations at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP. She brings over 25 years of marketing experience to her new post, including 11 years with Alticor rising from Marketing Manager, Europe, based in London, UK where she led the company's regional marketing organization across 19 European markets in core categories including Wellness, Beauty and Homecare to Vice President of Global Brands where she headed a global marketing organization of 50 employees with 15 brands across Alticor's three core categories. She began her career at The Boots Company LLC and direct sales company Avon Cosmetics.

Jackson graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland with a B.A. in German and French. She is fluent in English, German and French.

Tang began her 22 year career in the cosmetics industry with Clinique and Lancôme and for the last 13 years has beenwith BeautiControl Cosmetics, Inc., most recently as Vice President, Special Markets. During her tenure she opened domestic and international markets, increased sales in existing markets and business units, led market segment studies, successfully launched new product lines, developed distributor and sales force training programs and created public relations programs.

When Tupperware acquired BeautiControl in 2000, Connie was tapped to lead the successful introduction of BeautiControl into key global markets through Tupperware's infrastructure.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Tang graduated with a B.A. from Brooklyn College. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Chinese.
