For the commercial and marketing director at Marcela Maciel Beachwear, Leonardo Menezes, who only intended to gain experience and make some contacts, Mode City was a watershed for the company.

“We are negotiating a large volume of pieces with an important Spanish group and another Japanese one, as well as other smaller sales with several countries. We will certainly come back next edition of the fair.”

Prêt-à-Porter – Brazil stands out as supplier of sustainable fashion:
Prêt-à-Porter Paris is one of the most traditional and renowned events in Europe for apparel exhibiters. Divided among the different thematic halls, the 25 Brazilian apparel firms were pleased with the contacts and business perspectives. All together, business owners calculate a sales volume of nearly US$ 994 thousand over the next 12 months as a result of the fair.

Prêt-à-Porter resulted in excellent business, especially for the companies that participated in the So Ethic hall, destined for companies that focus on social work and environmental responsibility.

Algodão Colorido Natural, with headquarters in Natal/RN, is one of the companies that works with a cooperative of women and was very excited about the recognition of its product made of cotton that already comes with color, causing less impact on the environment.

“Participation at the fair was wonderful, the best possible. We made contacts and did business with Italy, France, England, which placed orders for the winter collection for immediate delivery.

I also received two large orders from Japan and French Guiana, which even wanted my samples. I made more than 20 contacts at the fair, and I think at least 10 of them will result in business.

For me, it is a must to come back to the next summer edition of Pret-a-Porter,” declared Francisca Vieira, the company's general director.

In the hall for creators and brands, stylist Márcia Ganem went for the first time and approved. “I am very pleased because the buyers who came to the fair were very open to innovative proposals, so our first day was already a success.

Although France is a traditional market, it was so receptive that they said over the past year, the most creative collections they had seen were from Brazil.”

Brazil will participate in more fairs in France:
Brazil will return to other fairs in France in September, now for raw material suppliers for the apparel industry: Texworld and Premiére Vision.

The first fair to receive support from the Texbrasil program, in 2001, Texworld is the largest business fair for the weaving industry, whereas Premier Vision is considered the fair to strengthen one's image, where only brands that launch trends in inputs are welcome and after approval by the committee. Brazil has participated in Premier Vision for the past three years.

Texbrasil Program:
The Brazilian Textile Chain Strategic Program (Texbrasil) was founded in 2001 in a partnership between ABIT and Apex-Brasil. In seven years, Texbrasil has trained and supported thousands of business owners to enter or strengthen our presence in foreign trade.
