Giorgio Armani launches Spring/Summer 2009 women's collection. This collection confirms a style that has changed the face of fashion, transforming pure elegance into delightful dressing in beautiful clothes designed to meet the demands of everyday life.
The show includes a range of pieces with striking individuality that evoke a joy to wear, bringing with them a sense of fluidity through lightweight fabrics and liquid colour effects that resemble long brush strokes.
Emphasising the general impression of movement, the puff hems of the skirts rest just above the knee. The dresses, with their tucked under hems, also conjure up a gust of wind.
Complementing the distinctive appearance of the skirts - the dominant theme of the collection – are slim, narrow trousers which display a precise touch, teamed with the top jackets of the season.
Jackets are double structured with fabric lined with organza or chiffon, long enough to cover the hip, lithe and lightly flared at the sides. To achieve a fresh and pared down silhouette, the dress too undergoes a change of direction: in a single piece, billowing slightly at the front, to give the lissom feel of a sarong, free and featherweight.
Cocktail dresses are cut into leaf shapes in organza, gleaming with the shimmer of sequins, elegantly draped, skimmed at the ankle.
Evening gowns sway freely with underskirts in printed organza in subtle tints that capture the delicate airy hues of the first rays of dawn.
