Garrard, the avant-garde London-based jewelry house synonymous with combining innovative design and renowned craftsmanship, announced today a partnership with fellow British designer, and one of the fashion industry's brightest stars, Georgina Chapman.

Chapman will unveil a limited edition collection of fine jewelry infused with color, charged with energy and based on designs that stir the imagination across generations. The Collection, Georgina Chapman for Garrard, will launch in Fall 2009.

"Georgina has made her mark in the fashion world with timeless designs of architectural wonder and opulence -- harnessing both a formal reserve and modern day elegance. Georgina's passion for art, fashion and jewelry combined with Garrard's strong heritage and exceptional craftsmanship will allow us to offer our clientele a fresh take on classic Garrard collections," said Terri Eagle, President and Chief Executive Officer for Garrard.

"I am thrilled to be collaborating with Garrard. This is a unique opportunity for me to work with a truly iconic brand with such a rich heritage and to translate my design aesthetic into jewelry," said Chapman.

Georgina Chapman is the designer and co-founder of fashion label Marchesa, best known for its elegant eveningwear. She and her partner Keren Craig launched Marchesa in 2004 and have since made a tremendous impact upon the industry with their beautifully crafted designs fusing high fashion with an eclectic aesthetic. They have established a loyal fan base including fashionistas Jennifer Lopez, Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Jessica Alba, Renee Zellweger and many other A-listers who turn to Marchesa to make a statement on the red carpet. Chapman is a 2001 graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art and began her career as a costume designer.

Garrard, the international jeweler with a cultural heritage of unparalleled richness, was founded by master goldsmith George Wickes in 1722, who received his first royal commission in 1735. By the time the firm had passed into the hands of Robert Garrard in 1802, whose name it still bears, creating designs of matchless magnificence for the social and royal sects had become a matter of course.
