Inspired by the abstract paintings of Bose Krishnamachari's "Stretch Bodies", the designing duo, Prriya and Chintan presented a Spring/Summer 2009 collection at Lakme Fashion Week which was an elegant, subdued line of utterly feminine women's wear and some very avant garde men's clothes.

The pair was adventurous in the silhouettes which were draped and constructed to fit the body in a stylish manner. The fabrics were in muted tones of crème, yellow, blue, maroon, white and black - some with interesting shading. Linen, jersey, georgette, chiffon and taffeta gave the silhouettes the elegance that they needed.

Starting with a stylish crème linen ruffled neck dress with multi colour embroidery on the waist; the show progressed to a blue shaded jersey and chiffon dress with embroidered flap, then linen pants, draped sarong skirt teamed with orange silk jacket and a dramatic maroon draped silk jersey dress with embroidered belt.

Men's wear which was primarily in the mix and match segment; had linen jackets with draped collars and worn with georgette shirts and jeans. A red and yellow shaded long sleeved jersey shirt was teamed with a wrap around vest and trousers while abstract embroidery appeared on a white shirt.

The slashes of colours were placed carefully by the designers on the ensembles along with the embroidery to highlight the theme of the collection.

The finale was a Spanish inspired multi tulle frilled gown worn by former Miss India and super model, Madhu Sapre.

Prriya and Chintan are known for their very glamorous bridal and formal wear. This time their perfectly prêt line proved that they are very versatile in their designing skills.
