The auditorium of the NCPA was changed into a wedding mandap with mogras and lamps hanging from the ceiling. The backdrop of the stage was a lovely green screen with gold embroidery.

The stage was set for the most spectacular bridal wear show – Bridal Sutra - to launch the "Lakme Beauty Sutra" line at the Grand Finale of Lakme Fashion Week.

Rooted in tradition and inspired by Indian beauty and sensuality, the Lakme Bridal Sutra collection is for the contemporary Indian woman who blends a long heritage of Indian aesthetic into her own unique brand of expression.

The Bridal Sutra Collection is the first expression of the "Lakme Beauty Sutra", Lakme's beauty inspirations for every Indian woman - dedicated to the spirit of individuality and creativity sparked into vivid new expressions.

"Lakmé Bridal Sutra" line draws it's inspiration from rituals and joy of a wedding, along with the splendid colours of Indian jewels and burnished hues of precious metals.

The hues are crushed diamonds, sapphires and rubies, brought alive with the luster of liquid gold, silver and copper and textured to work fabulously with Indian skin tones and features.

Whether the occasion is a Mehendi, Sangeet, Vivah or Reception, Bridal Sutra is about stretching the license for individual expression through gorgeous traditions of dressing up.

Sabyasachi, together with make up maestro, Cory Walia; brought the looks alive on Lakmé models, Indrani Dasgupta, Amrit and Vipasha Agarwal for Mehendi, Sangeet and Vivah.

Sabyasachi's collections were a feast for the eyes as he created spectacular bridal wear for the whole family – the bride, groom and the children.

Stunning lehengas, beautiful cholis breathtaking dupattas, superb kurtas, salwars, churidars, amazing saris with the most outstanding embroidery and prints inspired by the Patan Patola of Orissa, which were given centre stage.

Velvet, silk, organza, brocade, chiffon and georgette were the basis of the fabulous collection, in myriad muted colours. Each creation was a work of art that could be cherished and preserved by generations to come.

The finale was the entry of the three Lakme faces – Indrani Dasgupta, Vipasha Agarwal and Amrit Maghera who were dressed in opulent bridal wear.

The Bridal Sutra collection by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the Lakme Fashion Week Grand finale was undoubtedly the most spectacular end to one of the most exciting fashion expos in the country.
