Chicago O'Hare Airport gets Nuance duty free stores

The Nuance Group is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Nuance Group (Chicago), a joint venture with The DFASS Group and PMA, MCD, Inc., has opened four Liberty Duty Free stores located in Terminals 1 to 3 at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

Initially, the temporary duty free store operations will comprise over 2,000 square feet (186 square metres) of retail space and will offer an assortment of premium liquor, tobacco, cosmetics, fragrances and imported confectionery that caters to the demands of the many international passengers travelling through Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

This duty free concession will have an initial five-year term with an optional extension for two additional years. The concession's overall value for the initial five years is estimated to be over USD 100 million.

In order to offer a better retail experience for the nearly four million international passengers enplaning from these Terminals, Nuance Group (Chicago) has engaged the well known Chicago based architectural firm Shapiro Associates for the development of the existing and new duty free retail space.

The duty free store development is expected to be completed in 2009. The new store design will incorporate the essence of Chicago as well as the modernity required to keep up with the passengers travelling to and through Chicago O'Hare International Airport.
