The Fashion Group Foundation Inc (FGI) is preparing its 10th Annual Career Day and Student Design Competition entitled “Dare To Design Your Future”.
This is a unique learning opportunity for your students (or you) to think “out of the box”, develop a portfolio piece and prepare for a fashion career.
Prize Winners in each category will receive a scholarship ranging from $1,000.00 to $3,500.00 at the discretion of the judges. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a three-week internship.
FGI will present its annual Career Day at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City on Friday, November 21st, 2008 for junior and senior college students.
Fashion Group began in 1928 when 17 women, gathered by Edna Woolman Chase, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, met for lunch in a modest midtown New York restaurant.
They had three things in common: Each held a job of consequence in the business of fashion, each held all the others in high regard and together they held a belief that fashion needed a forum, a stage, or a force to express and enhance a widening awareness of the American fashion business and of women's roles in that business.
