Taryn Rose International named former lululemon athletica chief executive Robert Meers as its new CEO.

Meers, who joined lululemon in 2005, was instrumental in establishing the strategic platform for the lululemon brand and its growth throughout North America and internationally. He assembled the senior management team and, under his leadership, led the company through its IPO in July 2007. Mr. Meers has extensive experience in the footwear industry having worked for Reebok International for 15 years and was formerly the president and CEO of Reebok Brand.

While at Reebok Mr. Meers established the brand as the industry leader in product innovation and accelerated Reebok market share and growth through the development and implementation of multi-brand strategies for Rockport, Greg Norman brands, as well as Reebok retail stores.

Meers is looking forward to his new role at Taryn Rose International and expressed his excitement, “I have admired the vision that Dr. Taryn Rose brought to this company and believe that it is a gem that is yet to reach its full potential. Aside from positioning the brand strongly in the United States, I look forward to rapid growth internationally.”

Robert Meers and his wife Miriam Kelly have also made an investment in the company and will manage as a team. Miriam has a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She will work closely with the current managers of many of the departments and use her specific expertise to the human resources, training and recruiting areas. She adds, “I intend to bring the women's touch to the product direction, merchandising and marketing and help grow the loyal following that has made Taryn Rose footwear so successful these past 10 years.”

In 1998 the footwear industry changed forever with the arrival of Taryn Rose International, a line of luxury shoes as fashionable as they are functional. Founded by young orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Taryn Rose, the brand struck a chord with women desiring to be well dressed while having a sense of well being and very quickly established a dedicated following. Artisans in Italy make Taryn Rose shoes the old fashion way, by hand. Each shoe is built on an asymmetrical form, allowing for full arch support, decreasing fatigue and gives stability to your ankles.

Taryn Rose builds in a generous cushion of Poron which offers shock absorption. Taryn Rose footwear can be found in one of our four boutiques including: Beverly Hills, New York City, Las Vegas and San Jose, and at a myriad of department stores including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Macys, Harrods London, Zappos.com, Endless.com as well Tarynrose.com.
