Heidi Dillon, founder and CEO of The Fashionistas, based in Dallas, today announced an innovative and groundbreaking partnership between The Fashionistas and the Couture Council of The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.

FIT is home to one of the most highly regarded fashion museums in the world, dedicated to the advancement of fashion knowledge. Dillon has been working closely with Dr. Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of the museum, on the details of the partnership.

The affiliation will further promote fashion as a significant art form, bringing remarkable educational and artistic programming, as well as legendary fashion icons, to Dallas. The inaugural program is slated for spring 2009.

Proactively working together, The Museum at FIT and The Fashionistas will share knowledge and insight to create synergy in and around the current fashion environment at the local, national, and international levels.

"The Fashionistas represent the cultural and economic bridge between Dallas and the international fashion world," said Dillon. "We are thrilled about our partnership with The Museum at FIT. The tremendous educational and artistic benefits that the partnership will provide to both Dallas and the international fashion community are priceless."

"The Couture Council of The Museum at FIT is delighted to partner with The Fashionistas," said Dr. Steele. "Several Fashionistas attended the Couture Council Awards Ceremony in September, and I am looking forward to coming down to Dallas next spring to speak to The Fashionistas."
