Two day Taiwanese fashion fair opens today in Beijing

A two day fashion fair to promote Taiwanese textile products will be held in Beijing, China at the Grand Hyatt hotel on December 18-19. This is the third fashion fair since its inception. Thirteen manufacturers and designers from Taiwan are participating in the fair which also includes two fashion shows.
Around 150 Chinese apparel manufactures, designers and retailers are expected to visit during the two day duration of the show, to discuss possibilities of cooperation with the visiting Taiwanese delegation. The fashion fair has been especially planned to increase cooperation and cross border exchanges between two countries.
Taiwanese exhibitors are looking at introducing their brands in the world's most populace country and with the recent declaration of the recent stimulus package of US $450 billion to increase consumer spending, the hopes of the exhibitors has soared sky high. Despite a six decade long rivalry, bilateral trade between the two countries has been growing by leaps and bounds.
Total investments made by Taiwanese businesses in China have touched nearly $74 billion till date and bilateral trade value has grown to $126.2 billion in the first eleven months of 2008, up 7.1 percent from the same period of last year between the two countries. This fair is expected to take bilateral trade to a higher level in 2009.
