Agra Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Chamber (AFMEC) presented the 2nd Edition of Mega Show “Meet at Agra 2008” during November 8 & 9, 2008. The Fair was inaugurated by Shri Jairam Ramesh, Hon'ble Minister of State for Commerce, Govt. of India.

The Hon'ble Minister congratulated AFMEC for making the Fair so successful in a short span of 2 years. He hailed the Indian Leather Industry for achieving record growth in last 4 years with exports touching $3.47 billion during 2007-08 & for setting a target of $4.00 billion in 2008-09

Fair was organized in a covered area of 6000 Sq. M. with 225 Stalls. A wide range of Footwear components, Leather & Machinery was exhibited. 15 overseas companies from USA, Italy, Germany, Japan, China, & Pakistan participated in the fair. More than 10000 visitors came to the fair & an estimated Rs.4, 000 Millions of business was transacted.

The participants were very happy with the arrangements & the business response. About 86 percent Exhibiters have confirmed their participation in the next edition of the fair. Many business visitors had also expressed their desire to exhibit in third edition. This is a definite indicator for the great success of the fair and its further growth in 2009.

The 3rd Edition of the Fair “Meet at Agra 2009” will be presented during 7th & 8th November 2009

AFMEC was established in 1998. Its objectives are two folds – one, to consolidate & project the Agra Footwear Industry as a cohesive group at National & International Forums & two, to provide a Platform of exchange to synergize the strengths of this group with international Benchmarks & to make optimum use of the same.
