Despite the downturn in the global economy, Gold Coast businesses are working together to create a spectacular 'Gold Coast Fashion Week 2009' event of international standard.

Prominent local businesses such as Division Model Management, Marcus Edward hair salons, Evolve Make-up, 102.9 Hot Tomato, Surfers Paradise Alliance, Surf Lifesaving Foundation, Temple Restaurant and Bar and Gold Coast Magazine are just a few to have shown their support for the event.

The Gold Coast has a distinct style and that will be highlighted throughout the events by the overall theme “Summer '09”. There are five days of fashion shows, workshops, demonstrations, model competitions and social events planned at different venues throughout the Gold Coast on the 13-17 May 2009.

Special Reservations, is the Gold Coast based Event Management Company producing Gold Coast Fashion Week 2009. Director Jason Purton says, “We have so many local businesses with enough experience, drive and talent to be able to produce a world class event. Being locally based allows us to use local companies to produce the event. It is good for the Gold Coast as a destination and our economy. It will give the Gold Coast world-wide exposure.”

Prominent Gold Coast model agency, Division Model Management, has become the “Official Model Agency” for the event. Division Model Management owner Kirsten Mitchell has stated that, “The events planned for this years Gold Coast Fashion Week are exciting. The Gold Coast needs a landmark fashion event of this scale. It will be a great event and something the Gold Coast can be proud of.”
