Feb '09
Mercedes-Benz returns to Bryant Park as the title sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York providing a backdrop for more than sixty runway shows and backstage events from February 13 - 20, 2009. Leading fashion designers who will be showcasing their Fall 2009 Collections include BCBG, Badgley Mischka, Chado Ralph Rucci, Diane Von Furstenberg, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Zac Posen and this season's Mercedes-Benz Presents Designer, Yigal Azrouel.

As the world of fashion and automobiles come together, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York will play host to over 100,000 guests who are invited to view cutting-edge designs from both the auto and fashion industries.

A favored destination in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tents is the backstage Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge where designer receptions and celebrity sightings happen daily including this season's celebration for Yigal Azrouel, Mercedes-Benz Presents Designer, hosted by Julia Stegner, Global Fashion Brand Ambassador. This season the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge is designed by Eric Villency, president of Maurice Villency.

"Each season is a new opportunity for us to connect the world of fashion with the unique designs and quality craftsmanship of Mercedes-Benz vehicles," said Lisa Holladay, Manager Brand Experience Marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA. "From the exclusivity of the SL63 AMG Edition IWC to the edgy style of the all new compact GLK, our customer guests can see our latest car designs at Fashion Week and enjoy the backstage luxury experience we've created in the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge."

The country's premier fashion venue in New York, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, will feature cutting-edge design and fashion from February 13-20, 2009:

Mercedes-Benz Vehicle Display
The lobby in the Bryant Park tents will showcase the newest GLK350 compact sport SUV and the high performance, limited production matte white SL63 AMG Edition IWC.

The 2010 GLK350 offers affordable luxury in a small package. At a starting price of $33,900, the five-passenger GLK features a V-6 engine with 268-horsepower and an edgy design that reflects a modern interpretation of the iconic G-Class. The sporty lines of the new GLK suggest power and agility creating the perfect balance of style, versatility and performance.

The SL63 AMG Edition IWC is a design statement worthy of the best runway shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The limited edition roadster's interior is finished with luxurious Tobago Brown Nappa leather with contrast stitching and carbon fiber inserts on both the door panels and center console. The SL63 AMG Edition IWC exterior is an eye-catching Magno Cashmere White paint with matte finish -- the first of its kind on a production Mercedes-Benz vehicle. A limited edition "Grosser Ingenieur" watch from the renowned Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen will be featured. Only 200 SL63 AMG Edition IWC roadsters will be made and only 63 will be available to US customers.
